Morning Sunrise

I can’t remember if I’ve mentioned this yet, but I live in the stunningly beautiful pacific northwest. I love where I live. The only downside is that it rains far too often.

However, it has been HOT lately.

I’m sure my readers living in hotter climates would laugh at what I consider “hot,” but hey, I don’t have air conditioning!

But there is a bright side!

My morning run was beautiful this morning. I ran at 5:00 a.m. (as I’ve–yikes!–been doing lately) and it was the perfect temperature. The sunrise was gorgeous and “the mountain was out.” In the midst of huffing and puffing my way down the street, I couldn’t help but stop and appreciate the beauty.

I just wish I’d had my camera!

For me, it is the humidity. If I don’t get up super early, the humidity is so bad, that I hit the treadmill. Today, I also got up at 5, and when I got out there, it was 65 degrees. Nice breeze. Low humidity. No wind. It could not have been better!

Good runs all around!

Early morning is the best time to beat the summer heat and humidity in Florida, too.

I got to visit Mount Rainier once a few years ago, and as a slice of the Pacific Northwest, that was just incredible.

I can’t wait for spring to come again so that I can have those beautiful early morning runs. Now I have the foggy and cold ones!

5am is absolutely the best time. I try to get out there 15 minutes before sunrise. Absolutely beautiful! CA runner here, but even through the smoke we see a sunrise!

Wow, 5 a.m. is early! I haven’t been up that early since I was forced to in the military. I know what you mean though, getting up and running early just feels right. I need start getting up earlier, which also means I need to go to bed earlier…
